New York Botanical Gardens Holiday Train Show 5066 CourseCatalog/images/new.gif

Move over Manhattttan! New York’s other big seasonal event goes on parade with the popular Holiday Train Show
at the New York Botanical Garden. Wrapped in the glow of twinkling lights, model trains and trolleys zip along over
winding tracks past scaled replicas of New York Landmarks. Orange slices, cinnamon stiticks, poppy pods, pine cones
and a host of plant materials are used to create the more than 140 architectural reproductitions. The Statue of Liberty,
Ellis Island, The Brooklyn Bridge and Yankee Stadium are just a few examples. See the gingerbread houses and ongoing
demonstratitions. Stop at the café for lunch (on your own) and visit the giftft shop for some unique shopping. Following
our titime at the Garden, we’ll have titime to browse the Italian Market and other shops and bakeries on famous
Arthur Avenue before departiting for home. You may bring a small cooler to transport items home that will be stored
under the bus.
