Painting with Soft Pastels 1461N
Pastels offer it all: Rich color, direct mark making, control, a forgiving process for correcting, and immediate gratification! The
class starts with an explanation of what to look for in materials. You will get a feel for how pastels work with a simple color reference.
You will learn the difference between soft, medium, and hard pastels, the various surfaces available, the best practices
for working with the medium, the various underpainting techniques, and how to protect your finished work. Beginners and
intermediates welcome. Demonstrations, one-on-one attention, and class critiques will be given.
A supply list will be given prior to the first night of class.
