 Gilded Age Christmas

Wilderstein (wild man’s stone) was transformed into a Queen Anne style mansion when purchased by the Suckley family, and was fashionably outfitted by New York City decorator John Tiffany a cousin of Louis Tiffany of stainedglass fame. Three generations of the family resided here the last being Margaret “Daisy” Suckley, a distant cousin and confidante of FDR. Experience a guided tour of the mansion beautifully decorated for the Holidays

The Beekman Arms is America’s oldest continuously operated hotel, located in the center of the Village of Rhinebeck. We’ll dine in their Tavern, a Colonial Tap Room. The menu includes: bread, salad, choice of Roasted Chicken Breast with Madera wine sauce or Roasted Salmon with Beurre Blanc Sauce, Apple Strudel with Crème Anglaise Sauce, Coffee.

After lunch, experience the season as we step back into the Gilded Age of America in the form of the Staatsburgh Mansion. Once owned by Ogden Mills and Ruth Livingston, our visit will feature over 20 rooms, fully furnished with the former owners’ turnof-the-century collections. The mansion is opulently adorned with enormous trees and elegant floral arrangements.
