Chess for Beginners 2819
This class is designed for adults who are new to the game as well as those who learned it years ago and would like a refresher!
We cover all the basic rules of the game, piece movements, relative values of the pieces, capturing, and of course, the ultimate object of the game – checkmate! You will master the special moves of castling, promotion and en passant. At the end of each class, you will practice what you learned in training games with peers.
“Chess for Beginners: Know the Rules, Choose the Strategies and Start Winning” book by Y. Orlova is needed and will be available for purchase at the first class or online.
