The current version of the GED is totally computer-based. All previously passed sections of the GED test are no longer valid.
The GED exam is no longer offered at Hamden High School, but at several local sites. It consists of tests in the following areas: language arts/writing, language arts/reading, math, science, and social studies.
Eligibility
Any Connecticut resident who does not have a high school diploma, is at least 17 years old and has formally been withdrawn from school for six months or their high school class has graduated, is eligible. Official practice tests need to be taken and you must score "likely to pass".
How to Register
Go to www.ged.com and start your online profile. Then register in-person at the Hamden Adult Education office. A current state or government photo ID is required at registration and upon entrance into exams. A fee of $13 payable by money order or credit card only is required for examinees 21 years and older. GED prep classes are available at the M. L. Keefe Community Center for those individuals interested in preparing for the GED exam who work or live in Hamden, North Haven, Bethany, Woodbridge, and Orange. Residents of other communities should contact their community's adult education program. Now is the time to take classes!
