The Hamden Board of Education, (through Hamden Adult Education), and Gateway Community College have developed a joint program to bring college level courses to the residents of Hamden. Classes will begin the week of September 15th. You are required to take placement examinations in reading, mathematics and written English. Mathematics and English credits from an accredited institution of higher education will be reviewed to determine if a waiver from the tests should be granted. Courses offered at Hamden High School from 6:45 - 9:45 pm. Course Day Room Elementary Spanish Mondays D 215 Fundamentals of Human Communications Thursdays D 213 Life Span Development Wednesdays D 213 Pre Algebra Number Sense-Geometry Mondays D 214 Writing: Paragraph to Essay Mondays D 211 Register by mail or by calling 285.2080 to request registration forms. For further information, call the Gateway Community College’s Admissions office at 285.2080. The College reserves the right to cancel those courses for which there is insufficient enrollment.
